counting all the nights you've wasted / under unfamiliar stars

Today is a special day for the one, the only gracieluve! *hugs* You're the bravest, baldest Lee sister all around, and only you could still look as cute as you do. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you in person during these long months, but like Uncle Simon, I sent my prayers to you at a temple in Shanghai. But you know that I can't wait to be ( Read more... )

Frozen lake? Freezing temps? Apparently Changchun is the only place where it is properly cold for this time of year.

(We have no snow. My Finnish Postcrossing pals have no snow--or they did, and it's already gone. This winter is all sorts of wrong.)

Changchun is having an unusually warm winter. The other day it was so warm that I think the ice was beginning to melt.

As Changchun is hosting the Asian Winter Games this year, you can imagine how much of a disaster this warm weather is.

Yay, climate change!

I've totally been neglecting Postcrossing. :(

This was simply beautiful and brought tears to my eyes in the best way. I used to love walking in NY too--for hours and hours, we'd spend our weekends walking. Especially this time of year when it was just to cold we'd still trek around midtown or the lower east side trying to get inside to the warmth of some restaurant or bar or other (often with you :) I miss that so much, though now we wander aimlessly down the beach and that's pretty special too. Still, there's nothing like walking through the streets of NYC.

Thanks for writing and sharing this *hugs* soon we will take LA by storm. :)

Awwww...Thanks sweetie! I agree, there really isn't anything like walking through New York. It was always full of possibility.

I don't know how L.A. will be able to handle the two of us together outside of New York! XDXDXD

I completely agree. There's nothing like a good walk. Especially in NYC. I still think back fondly on my days of poverty when strapped for cash I would walk all the way from Harlem to Astor Place, just to pick up my paycheck. And these days I miss having that time. I have tomorrow off, I think I hear a walk downtown calling.

Fiona!!!

We called on Christmas, but we got a "disconnected phone service" message and then we freaked out that you were stranded and had no way of contacting you!! Thank goodness we have a natural disaster to explain everything!

So many H & M S!!!!! YAYAYAYYAAYAYAY. It's so sad, I read all the Regencys and now I can't find any good ones anymore =*(. Anywhoo, see you at home when I jump into bed and smother you with Bear and Squishy!!!

Helen and I walked from the mall back home with our purchases and we had a very New York moment with the cold air blowing in our faces! I like to think you were with us in spirit! Although everytime I saw a stranger walking towards us, I got really scared! We have a new club name "The Walkies!"
