This is supposedly a questionnaire that is being distributed to anyone who is up for a Presidential appointment. It's something crazy like 60+ questions. I wonder if this is normal?

I read the articles you linked for me (thanks!) and am thinking that perhaps he's taking measures not only to protect himself since he must realize what a risk there is of assasination, but also that this is probably more of his cleaning house approach which is shrewd and wise considering Bush's reputation and who he collaborated with.

That's my best guess. Normally I might think of such an application as controlling and invasive but considering the situation it might actually make a lot of sense.
