Wow. Who's a thunk that typing a ' rather than a " could make everything after the ' disappear??

I could NOT figure out why this wasn't posting the way it was supposed to ... until I went through the entry (which sure looked right while I was in the edit window) word for word. It was a small error with a big effect. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks poets_hand! I was quite confused until I examined the coding very closely. It's all better now.

You take such good care of your animals. <3

The female rabbit sounds so cute. She's probably burrowing to find a cool spot!

We're having temperatures in the high 90s here, too. It's not as humid, but still icky. Wednesday the kids are having a Splash Party here, with their pool up and a slip-and-slide. Should be a good way to keep cool. We're also serving root-beer floats.

Yup, that was my thought too (about the rabbit). We sat near her and let her have fun for a long time. We noticed that she was also nibbling on the roots of the grass as she excavated under the brick edging. We don't know if she was enjoying the taste or if they were just in her way.

Oh. Root beer floats. God I haven't had one of those since I was a kid. There may be one in my near future.

I know what you mean about heat indexes. Our heat index today is 115 and one step out into it and you don't disagree. Usually when our weathermen predict temperature, we're usually hotter. They are basing everything off the coastal areas and we're a little inland. We generally run hotter temps than what the weather tells us. Bank thermometers confirm it. Either way, the heat is getting not only oppressive, it's depressing...

I don't recall ever seeing this much of the country suffering all at the same time before. Even during the dust bowl years, PARTS of the country were just fine. It makes me nervous -- I think I'm sort of waiting for massive blackouts or riots or something. But then I'm kinda grim & dark that way.
