It has come to my attention that America is lacking in electric kettles. My basic reaction to this is "wha ... how do you boil waterI find this essentially strange, I'll admit. They have no kettles in germany either...you have to boil water in a pan. Mind you, they taught us to make a cup of tea at school using a pan to boil water; supposedly kettles are more dangerous. *frowns*

I remember the time Nats had to ask me when the electric kettle had boiled in Home Ec. because she's all ye olde Englishe and was still bathing in front of the fire in a tin tub.

What happens if you want to make coffee or something?

I find it kind of amusing that you like the old-fashioned tea kettles, because I had never used one in my life before until last year when we bought one for camping. The idea of using a whistling kettle is a novelty to me still.

Coffee makers?

i believe I know the term, but remember: we are a nation who would be defenceless without our tea.

In all honesty, we don't really have coffee makers. We do it by hand. Boil the water in the kettle, into the strainer thing with the coffee, into the mug.
