ADKLGALKGM!!!

My headmaster, has decided to do a Myspace check on all of the students in school who have Myspace. :( She's warned various people about it, so I've heard. I'm not taking chances, because the minimum punishment for inappropriate content is suspension. Umm, yeah, and I'm not trying to get suspended or even expelled. So now we're all ( Read more... )

Yes, and that's a huge disadvantage.
Especially since our highschool is really small.
Plus, not only is it a private school, it's a CHRISTIAN private school.
Which makes it even worse. :/

wtf that is so lame!
are they even allowed to do that?!
i mean, myspace isn't related to the school in anyway, so they don't really have a right to punish students for something that's done OUTSIDE of school
right?

OMFG, I know! Isn't it lame???
UGH, I thought the same exact thing.
Like come one, can it get any worse?

I don't even know if they're allowed.
It shouldn't be allowed and it should be a violation of some sort. :/
I agree, it's outside of school, yet we're being punished for actions being done off campus. :(

i go to a public school and the principal found someone's myspace that made fun of her sort of. pretending to be her. anyway, the kid was a teacher's son at our school. and he got suspended!

anyway, there was some walk out too. it was pretty entertaining at least. but dumb.

OMG, WOW!
I can't believe the kid who was doing that was a teacher's son.
That's really bad, and I would feel so bad for that teacher because their son's actions really reflect off of them too.

lol, & there was a walk out? LMAO, wowwwww, yes, I agree, that sounds pretty entertaining, hehe.

-gawks- I can understand punishment for looking at inappropriate things on SCHOOL computers in SCHOOL time, but what you do outside of school is none of their flipping business. A lot of teenagers pour their hearts out on online journal sites like LJ, Xanga and MySpace. Doing a MySpace check is equivalent to reading someone's diary, and I'd freak if my teachers announced that they were doing a blog check. They can read my public one until their eyes fall out, but my private LJ is just that-private.

Oh I TOTALLY agree.
First off, I too agree that punishment should be followed through for inappropriate things on school computers, but I don't think that entering the privacy of students outside of the school is anywhere near right.

I also would've liked the administration to have at least announced this, and given us all a warning.
& I've been reading the handbook, and there's nothing in there that says anything about off-campus whereabouts and doings. :/
