First in a Post of Flour-less Desserts

Aug 25, 2011 16:59

Reading from lost_hitsu's post, "Bye Bye Bread", I was inspired to broaden my cooking horizons to think about making desserts that do not have flour or are gluten-free. All I could think of is this dessert.

Sweetness Awaits )

This is probably the first time someone made a recipe for me!

Oh so that's how you make the caramel on the bottom of a pudding (we call everything of this consistency a pudding). In my country, we prepare puddings from a dry powdery mixture without eggs, and I will definitely try this out. And I can indeed eat every one of those ingredients!

Thank you so much, this is a wonderful thing to find on my dashboard.

Actually, when I first read that no-bread thing all I could think of were pudding recipes XDDD

I got one that doesn't have eggs. It's a really Asian and vegan dessert XDDD I'm planning to make it for the monks at the Buddhist temple near my university. Okay so eggs are okay... what about seaweed extract in unflavored gelatin?

OH. I'm posting another thingy today~ It's more of a confectionery or a sort of candy than a dessert; but it's really awesome XDDD

Seaweed is okay but I don't think they sell it here. I think I know what you mean, I saw it in Japan, they call it kanten, but my poor sea-less country can't have such treats apparently.

Looking forward to anything you have prepared for me! (I feel so spoiled!)

Unflavored gelatin works, too :D I know most unflavored gelatin powder brands or unflavored gelatin films are made of seaweed extract; so it should be ok
