bone spurs, and rotator cuffs, and Dilaudid, oh my...

Long time, no post, but that's because it takes too long to type one-handed.  I'm 3.5 weeks post-surgery on my right shoulder; all went well (I now hold the record for this doc's largest bone spur of the shoulder joint -- THAT was not a record I aspired to) and I've now got pictures of the torn rotator cuff, the screw in my humerus and everything ( Read more... )

Yep, completely one-handed (although, being a leftie, it wasn't so bad) but we won't discuss how LONG it took me! Thanks for the well-wishes -- I now turn on the light everywhere I go.

Indeed, the one who searches for the missing aviator is right. Quite the one handed tome. Impressed by the bone spur as well. Congratulations? I'm sorry to hear about the semi-recumbent sleeping. That never works well for me. Other than when your banging into things how do you feel? And let's not double up on those dilaudids, eh? Cause it's making you see underlines where there are none.

Oh, it took me awhile for the posting, but I seem to have nothing but time right now. Yes, the sleeping situation is the worst part of it for me; I get very restless with the restrictions I'm under, but my restlessness seems to hit epic proportions at night.

Other than banging into inanimate structural objects, I'm doing quite well. Ask me again in a couple of weeks, and the answer may be decidedly different.

So no underlines? Yowza... I'm not sure WHICH drug to blame that on...

Just a get well soon wish. I've had rotator cuff surgery so I've got an idea what you're going through. It does indeed suck.

Hope you get well soon and yes your LJ entry is quite impressive considering you typed the entire thing left handed.

Aw, thanks k-k. I keep running into more and more people who have had this surgery. In fact, 2 different guys approached me last night at the liquor store as I was purchasing a bottle of wine -- both had undergone the same repair; thankfully only one felt compelled to tell me his horror story of having to undergo the surgery a second time. Hope all is well with you -- great to hear from you.
