Oahu is in the clear!

So the worst is pretty much over. Nothing really happened in Oahu, but Maui got some big waves. I still feel really bad for everyone in Japan. There are a lot of Japanese tourists in Hawai'i too, and I'm sure they're really worried about their families. In Waikiki they have evacuation plans, but they evacuate up, not out. Everyone in the ( Read more... )

As I said at the other post I'm very glad you're okay, and well, I don't know how you people manage when a tsunami appears, but I hope nothing important happened in Hawaii.

Ahahaha, alerts on and your mates only worry about classess, that's funny and sweet at the same time :'3

Ah, sorry, I'd like to say anything more but I can't express what I want ;_; I'm sorry!

Oh, and yes, I can see your paragraphs, but they're not separated at all, except from the space between the text and the note o3o

Thanks! Hawai'i is very well prepared for things like this. It kinda comes with living on an island. The siren system they have is just one example, and all the buildings and hotels have evacuation plans.

Haha, yea people were saying they were gonna ditch class anyway even if the school didn't shut down. A ton of teachers are from Japan and so are many of the students because there is a high Japanese population here. I don't think many of them would have wanted to go to school.

Oh, I see. I'm relieved then ^^!

Well no, going to school would be kind of weird, wouldn't it?

Thanks! It's pretty much the only plus in this horrible situation. I know people who had midterms today and now they don't have to take them. I had a Japanese test that's been pushed back to Monday, so that's pretty sweet.

No, thankfully my apartment didn't flood :)

I feel awful about all the stuff going on in Japan right now. So many people living here have friends and family living there and you can really feel the panic and distress even though the "worst" is technically over. It sucks :(

So glad you're okay! *hug* It's so heartbreaking and frustrating reading about the aftereffects in Japan, knowing that these kinds of catastrophes can't be prevented. :(

Thanks :)

What happened in Japan is so horrible. I can't even imagine how the people living over there must feel. It's really heartbreaking.
