I would definitely recommend Berserk, but...yeah, it breaks your heart.

My new thing is Claymore, which has a lot of flaws--the early plot is rather ineptly executed and the art strikes me as very lazy, to name a couple--but makes up for it by being a rather unique thing in shounen (+ a bit of seinen, I think). It's focused on women fighting, on the relationships they have between them as fighters, on the trials and suffering they go through, on the sinister politics behind it all. And I really like all the female characters (the male characters so far, Raki and Rubel, I'm indifferent too), so it's really neat to watch them get introduced and explained.

I saw the effect it had on my flist. XD

I was eyeing Claymore lazily, because it's already been licensed by Viz and I think they've got up to volume six or seven out. I had no idea what it was about though, save the fact that there were girls pwning in it. I'll look for it online, if not I'll go to plan B. (read it in Borders when no one's looking!)
