i hear that. I recently finished reading the 33 1/3 entry for Use Your Illusions, which prompted me to netflix both the UYI dvd set and A Year and a Half in the life of Metallica(inexplicable, yet linked). I don't really expect to actually WANT to watch either of them by the time they get to me, but am loath to remove them from my queue for reasons I can't quite get straight. As far as Nirvana, they were Guns and Roses with the scattergun self-loathing turned inward. Give Kurt Cobain a bandana and a Manson Tshirt and all the pieces would've fit.
