Very *large* dump of snow last night and early this morning, reminiscent of the old days on Shady Lane Farm. I sense that if I were to venture out onto the lawn, the snow would be at about my knees. The woman in question, Anne Nicol Gaylor's grandfather Sowle married Pop's grandparents (Frank and Francelia Clay). No, he wasn't a preacher, he was a justice of the peace, but the Sowles were pretty ardent Methodists. Her Nicol relatives were Scots--her father was third generation. You'll note that her children all have Scots names.
