At long last, Vergil was finally reunited with his powers and a copy of Yamato. It was better than nothing. It was all a result of the efforts of Fortuna's former scientist, Agnus. Though, he was trying to change his ways for his brother, like he had been since the Temen-Ni-Gru and Black Angel incidents... Agnus and the Yamato data was too big a ( Read more... )

"Former Glory" his ass.

To his brother, Vergil was always in his glory, but he never saw it. All that was in front of him was the hunger for more, and more. Dante would've pointed out that his greed for control was nothing but his human-half screaming for justice. But he didn't say anything-he wouldn't say anything. Vergil would have to figure it out for himself.

So Dante followed his brother's call. This time, it was with intense focus and determination, not with the casual demeanor that he strolled into Temen-ni-Gru with years ago. Parts of him had changed-parts of Vergil had not-that's why this would be a simple, clean fight.

Dante raised a hand in greeting. "Did I keep you waiting?"

He sensed his brother arrive and turned just as he spoke, hands already placed on his sword. He was aware of how powerful his brother had grown, but since getting a Yamato back, and with it, his original demonic powers, all those facts were drowned out. Putting more faith in power once more. Having his power restored to him had drowned out any common sense and attempts to change (for now). He'd been on some sort of rampage, already, just to test out his powers -- it'd been so long. Perhaps now he can finally beat his brother in a fight!

"Hm. Just like old times," and he flicks Yamato up from the sheath.

Their mother's death had changed them in different ways. Vergil could never face that, Dante was forced to.

Dante's expression fell, and Ebony was pulled from her sheath, cocked toward his brother's chest. "Heh," his head rolled down, his fangs showing in a wide grin. "Understand, damn it," his voice was oddly deep, void of his usual jovial patterns.

He wouldn't make the first move.

"Understand?" Head tilting, only slightly, accompanied with that same expressionless face he so often carried. He understood all he needed to, right? You need power. Ebony was raised, and he remained unfazed.

Quickly, he jumps back, quickly ripping the blade from its sheath, opening their battle with a flurry of his Judgement Cut.
