Teu, by logic, by the time you're from, I CAN'T be a warrior. By logic and by my own time, I shouldn't be. Then again, I wouldn't have lived to adulthood in your time, I would have died a thousand times over. [A tired look.]
I lived my childhood bound by so many rules, so many fears that I would have done anything to be free.
[He shakes his head.]
The first time I truly lived was with three people screwed up in their own ways, Teu. And I can only make my life an atonement for what I've done to them. [An emotionless mask.] A killer, a thief of lives, yet I feel remorse. I suspect what was done to me now, and if I'm right...
[A bitter smile.]
Then I'll pay for my freedom from that atonement with the blood of those who wronged me. Perhaps not the most Christian or charitable attitude, but turning the other cheek isn't something I'm good at.
[He sighs.]
