He could spot, even from a distance, his best friend's distinctive visage. Calling out to Yosuke would have been an exercise in futility, considering the other boy's penchant for blaring his music at full volume. Souji opted to lift his arm and wave casually while smiling as he approached.

"Yo, Partner!" Came the usual greeting. He grinned, obviously excited to see Souji there, waiting for him to come closer, so he didn't have to yell to hear him. It was funny, you'd think these two would be used to meeting here by now, and they were- but not for just casual times. Most of the time, it was always something to do with the case. Now that it was over, they had time to breathe again.
Once he was in a good earshot without having to yell, Yosuke jerked his thumb towards their destination. "Figured we could use a break from Inaba, so why don't we go visit the city for a while?"

Yes, Okina was a good choice with its myriad of potential distractions. They could grab lunch, watch a movie, play some games at the arcade - any number of activities that did not involve fretting over his upcoming date-slash-discussion with Rise. That way at least the topic could be broached with Yosuke at his own discretion, not unwittingly outed by his own off-kilter demeanor.
Souji patted his back pocket to double check for the presence of his wallet. After affirming that he had remembered to bring it, his smile grew broader. "Good thing I found time to renew my metro card last week."

It didn't take them long to get there, and the trip had been pretty much normal thus far. Stretching a little after coming down the stairs into the mall, Yosuke turned his head to see what was going on, exactly, and if anything caught his eye first. People were bustling around, there was laughter in the air, and it seemed like it was just another day, as usual.
"So, where do you wanna go, Souji? I mean, we've got the movies, the arcade, the shops... there's a ton of things we can do. I have no idea where to start!" His voice was carefree, he had missed being here, even though he was used to living in Inaba by now.
