Its mostly wickedthought's fault but I am becoming a wrestling fan. We've been watching dvds and such recently, including the Decade of Decadence and the Twist of Fate ones (Edge and Hardy brothers). Also catching the Monday night episodes of Raw. It is funny because I know I am not the kind of person one would pick out of a line up to be a professional ( Read more... )

Well, its no different to any other theatre show!

I used to watch the Sumo and the parallels are interesting.
In that it is all about the pre-bout stomping about and not the fight itself.

No it is certainly not different than theatre in many respects. When my coworkers are startled that I like something sooooo.....err...not like my other interests I pointed this out to them, that it is very much about the stories. Heh.
Sumo, eh? That sounds like fun too.

Perhaps that's where they lose me. I don't want the pre-show. I don't want all the cock-fight posturing and trash talking.

I want to see two gladiators push their bodies and minds past the limit and then go into a ring and prove themselves.

I'll stick with the UFC.
