It is three this time so I'm gonna save room on people's friends lists and put them behind a cut. I have also been to the public library for the first time in well over a year today. That would be due to the private Wick memorial library in my living room. They have self checkout now! I only ever get five books so that I can finish them well before ( Read more... )

I too just returned from the library, and I too felt the need to become more conversant with the former employee of Ebeneezer Prouge - Berry Pratchett. I picked up Making Money - a sequel to Going Postal.

Very fun so far.

Also, I've just delved into Book 2 of His Majesty's Dragon Series by Naomi Novik - The Jade Throne. The series takes it's name from the title of the first book. If you like Jane Austen, the romance of the British Navy, and the fantastical-real elements of Dinotopia then you will love these books. Her writing is superb for this series.

P.S. The wife just finished Inkheart and called it one of her five favorite books of all time - which is amazing since her top five list leans towards Heavy American and Feminist Literature.

Yeah, I had heard of it, and mentioned it to her a while back, and then low and behold, they're making a movie of it and released new versions of the book. Whoot. The movie is rumored to also be kick-ass.

Inkheart is a good book. My daughter and I have read it, although she has read inkspell as well. Inkdeath, the 3rd in the series, is out now also.

The father in the story has a relationship with daughter that is similar to mine so the story struck a bit deeper with me.

I look forward to the movie myself. :)
