The broody duck broke open and kicked out her last duck egg. It was a beautiful duckiling, so I have no idea why she killed it. I took the remaining 2 goose eggs away from her and put them in the hated incubator. That is better than losing them to the duck's craziness.

Stupid question, but how did it get to be October already? Seriously.

This year, the whole family is in on the inking fun of Inktober. The kids get in and get it done and then move on to other things like watercolors, crafting, etc.  I will share some of their stuff at a later date. J is drawing, too, using the challenge as an opportunity to work ( Read more... )

I finally finished fiddling with my Inktober sketch about a week ago but forgot to post last week.  Here is a comparison with the post-wash piece and the final version where I added the shadows.

I meant to post this earlier but life has been tumultuous the past week and a half. I still have yet to finish this Inktober piece or sum up my thoughts on my month, but I did apply an ink wash after much hemming and hawing over whether or not I should do it.
