These roads represent such adventures--I'd have a hard time not floating off for joy if I found myself on these roads with you.
(That road in Bolivia. No way I'm riding in a motorized vehicle on that. I'll walk, with my back pressed against the mountainside, thank you very much--and that little diamond sign, innocently suggesting a turn in the road. Gah!) The misty road in Yellowstone--wow. Fairylike. And the red-and-white gates to fields of gold. And the dappled light in Capitol Reef. Such vistas ♥
I've seen several documentaries on the road, including details of the bike tours. A U.S. TV series documented several U.S. and Canadian truck drivers who volunteered to drive the road multiple times. Did you meet the man who stands on the corners with a flag to warn of oncoming traffic? He volunteered, I believe, after losing a family member. You are the only person I've encountered who had been there. Amazing travel photos (all.)

And that road, yeah. Did you read my entry about that road? http://mnfaure.livejournal.com/197683.html I went down it on bike and back up again by bus. Scary both ways, but scarier in the bus. Here is another entry about the "history" of the road: http://mnfaure.livejournal.com/198200.html
