Despite the simplicity of the design I came up with, my wrists weren't very happy with the papercutting. I wasn't thinking about my tendonitis but about my very dull cutter blade when I decided to keep my image simple, and I'm glad I didn't try for anything more delicate ( Read more... )

I love papercutting! (Not that I do any beyond snowflakes, but I do love them.) It's amazing how few cuts create the impression of a real animal.

This donkey looks to me adventurous and not too concerned about obstacles, taking life as it comes. Could be male or female.

In a book, I think this style of illustration would look a lot like woodcuts.

I thought the same about woodcuts, and it is a technique I would dearly love to try. Not too easy to do, though, and definitely time consuming. I may give stamps a whirl, though.

Hello, hello.

Yeah, wanted dark paper and the only thing on hand was my daughter's construction paper. Construction paper + dull blade = not my brightest idea. :P
