Muddling my way through process

First things first: This is by no means a how-to or "lesson." This is me rambling about story structure and process because I keep promising to show what I've been up to with my writing. If this navel-gazing brain picking can be of use or interest to anyone else so much the better.

It's a privilege to have you share how you're thinking about writing--thanks!

I have a question about the index cards. (Hmmm, make that "some questions") Each is for a scene, yes? So in each scene, you're going to have the goal, conflict, disaster, etc.?

The ideas are fascinating, but as with all systems I've come across so far, it seems like something I might be able to find in my work after I'm finished, but would have a hard time using to actually construct the story from the beginning. But if it works, go for it!

Gosh...writing is just so much work, isn't it? :p

And yes, it might seem cumbersome now, but you will hone and polish your method over time and things you have to consciously implement and consider now will become second nature to you later.

Not that I am, by any means, an expert. :p
