Hedgehog and other wildlife sightings.

Last night we had a hedgehog in the little space of gravel-covered dirt that serves as our yard.  I heard a stray eating our cats' food and went down to chase it off.  At the bottom of the stairs, Mr (or Ms) Hedgehog was sitting calmly--so calmly I suspected it was dead--in front of the courtyard door.  Because it would have had to climb a whole ( Read more... )

Hehe...hedgehogs like to FREEZE when startled.

And yeah poor ferret. :(

I love these little peeks of nature in the city: we get raccoons, possums, crows, squirrels, and a wide assortment of birds as regular visitors. Because there's a preserved wetlands nearby we also get V wedges of migrating Canadian geese.

Yeah, it really makes my day to see wildlife, even the simplest swallow. I think humankind needs and thrives on that connection with nature.
