Ok, here's one for you to laugh at. I know this is rather awful, but in my defense I was trying a form I'm not terribly fond of. Hopefully I'll like the next thing I work on better

I don't think it's too bad for an acrostic. I have my GT students write an acrostic with only one word in each line. Makes them really think before they put a word down on the page.
Yeah, that's an excellent beginner exercise. My teacher at Academy had us do it I think. :) So much of poetry is about precision of language. My problem with this poem, though, is that it's too abstract and lacking in imagery. Unfortunately, that was because I really couldn't think of anything I wanted to write an acrostic *about*, but wasn't going to let myself not do a writing exercise I'd assigned myself. Ah, the joys of self-torture... Thank you for the comment, by the way, I appreciate your input. :)
