Thank you SO MUCH for this information. I especially appreciate the information on how to call my representative. I've been embarrassingly ignorant on political activity, and now I've found out who my rep is and what district I live in, and I called to express my request for a "yes" vote on the Hinche-Rohrabacher amendment.
I don't have Kristin's e-mail, so if you would be so kind, please let her know that her post made a big difference to me. I now have the capitol switchboard number and my rep's number on a file card in my rolodex, and I hope that that will make it that much easier for me to put my two cents in next time a vote on an amendment I consider very important comes up.
I know I was extremely lazy in not htmifying...ah -- wierd; for some reason, despite the source being mixed case, blockquote in carats is lowercasing the url. Ok, that's worth fixing...
