Athelstan glared furiously at Rowan for invading his privacy, and scooted backwards several inches to put more space between them. Seeing Rowan so upset, and hearing his tone of voice, made Ath want to push him down and kiss him, and just let everything be comfortable. That urge made him glare harder.

"I told you nothing is wrong," he snapped back, crossing his arms and looking away.

It hurt to see Athelstan scoot away from him like that, and his eyes narrowed in confusion. "Then why are you acting like this?" he growled, hoping to keep any hint of weakness out of his voice. "I thought we were over childishly avoiding and ignoring one another."

Athelstan was immediately on the defensive, his enraged gaze snapping up to Rowan's.

"I told you nothing is wrong," he snarled threateningly, his muscles coiling as though for an attack, "Must you nag me?!"

Now Rowan was pissed, because what right did Athelstan have to say he was nagging? He had the right to be a little curious when his-- his whatever Athelstan was to him, would hardly even speak to him. And then would further blow him off when asked about it! For Merlin's sake.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," he snapped, making to storm off the bed and out of the room, but pausing for a moment. "Well, next time you decide you want a fuck, don't come to me. I'm sure Wilkes will do the honors, because apparently that's what you prefer."
