Athelstan hadn't moved since Cassidy left him earlier. He was curled up around a pillow, half in and half out of the dream state. That hazy part of still being awake when nothing really makes sense. Like the knocking on his door. He blinked blearily and didn't move from his spot, barely raising his voice to call whoever it was in.
Rowan hesitated, not hearing much of a response, but entered anyways; if he didn't do it now he may just find some way to talk himself out of it. Arms crossed over his chest, he moved to the end of Athelstan's bed, lips pursed before greeting simply, "Hey." The urge to clamber into his friend's bed was overwhelming, but he resisted.
Athelstan shot up in bed, staring in wild eyed surprise at his friend. "Rowan?" he questioned, reaching towards him before quickly bringing his arm down to his side and looking away.
Rowan sat down on the edge of the bed, a bit surprised by his friend's reaction to his presence. He studied Ath for a moment, quietly, before reaching out to grab his hand, thumb brushing over his knuckles. "It's okay. I overreacted."

"I'm sorry," he said, his voice cracking.
