ooh, I really enjoyed this! The dancing scene in the club was very sensual, love the camoes from Lewis and Dr Hobson, and loved the last line! You got their voices spot on (love the quotations!), the pacing was fab and it was achy and bittersweet and yet hopeful. Very nice job.
Just so you know, though, I almost didn't read this because of the typos in the summary - I think you meant 'allusions' rather than 'illusions' and also 'eluding' rather than 'alluding' (I'm assuming 'peaces' rather than 'pieces' was authorial choice as I read the story as being partly about finding peace). In the end, I trusted your name, went for it and was glad I did! Thank you :-)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it (and took the chance). I couldn't not have Lewis around, and then Dr Hobson turned up they started talking... :-) Achy bittersweet and a little hopeful was what I was aiming for (and a good description of Hathaway's life) so it is good to know it came through.
(Thanks for the corrections - that's what I get for posting late at night when I am half asleep. *headdesk*)
Oh I love the end so much! xD Very funny and I really like how you have the voices down pat. Not usually my cup of tea (part of my mind while watching the latest episode of Lewis was going 'NO NO NO NO Lewis is going to be with Hathaway, not Hobson! God damn you writers, stop teasing us and make it canon!'), but this was very refreshing and has a great sense of quirkiness :D Very fun and very emotional. Poor H really needs to get laid soon!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do wish they would actually suck it up and make Hathaway canonically bisexual. Really, there is no reason they shouldn't and it would make all the little hints so much more fun. I OTP in a few other fandoms so I appreciate you difficulty. Even if their night was cut short I like to think a good time was had by all and knows what the future may bring ;-)
Thank you Hun. It was just too much fun to have Lewis being mostly clueless and Laura working it out and being encouraging. I'm sure she had no ulterior motives ;-)
I was actually thinking about that as I was writing. That maybe he was another policeman and that they would bump into each other the next day at work or something like that. And I was halfway tempted to drop hints that he'd been transferred from Mid-Yorkshire... But there were just too many possible people that I wanted to set Hathaway up with so I decided it was better to keep him as anonymous as possible. You have my permission to let you imagination run free on that one *eg*

If you were thinking what I am now thinking, I had never considered that pairing before but suddenly think that it would be the most awesome thing ever.
