someone forgot to turn out the sun

Aug 24, 2005 09:45

So, I woke up today surrounded by this strange, blue glow.

My first thought, rather than than usual "nnnnngghhdamn" was startled, clear "oh shit, I must have left something on all night."

And then my second thought was "Oh...yeah."

The sun has no off switch, more's the pity.

But it's funny because I forgot that there was a sun.

I just reread what I wrote in this comment and I don't think it makes sense but I'll run it. profmadhatter August 24 2005, 17:42:57 UTC
Frank called me once because he was afraid that the sun was going to go out. "Why would that be scary?" I said. I wish I could forget about the sun. But I won't. Except that the weather is perfect today (fingers crossed, right). Not a sun in the sky. Not that I can see anyways. And i am looking at the sky. And that vine/treee. I say it's a vine. Amy says tree. Who can be sure?

That makes perfect sense! mmmmurgle August 25 2005, 02:16:36 UTC
Also...you can't be sure there is a sun in the sky. Someone might be providing artificial lighting from above the cloud cover! Yoinking faulty logical constructions from scifi authors is fun. Also, it's a tree goddamnit. Vines don't have legs.
