So there was this ridiculous storm last night that came out of nowhere at 3:00 in the morning, and it kept me up most of the night. I like thunderstorms, but I don't like them when it feels like someone is shaking a thundersheet right outside my window and just randomly banging it right by my head. Grr

At around 5:00 this morning there was a HUGE clap of thunder. For a while I really thought that a nuclear bomb was dropped on Birmingham. So there were a couple of seconds last night when I was just lying in my bed waiting to be vaporized by some giant shockwave.

Luckily, it kept raining and I went back to sleep.

Yeah, it really freaked me out. Was a thunderstorm even forecast? I never pay attention anymore.
