Well, it's official, the computer is dead. Or at least some vital component of using it is. Like maybe the video card ( Read more... )

Oh no. I was so hoping for you that it would be something simple like the monitor.

I suppose you can try to look on the bright side and say, new computer, better technology, better gameplay experience. It's just trying having to wait until you can get it. :(

Aw, that stinks big time, Michelle. Did you manage to save the files, at least? I'd hate it if the Nebulas got lost.

I hope it makes it a bit better that you just added Chad to your Harem O Spares.

Well, bummer. That sucks! I wish it had been something easy and cheap to fix.

I hope you're able to pull all the files you need off of it. It would really suck to lose the Nebulas so close to finishing.

About the files, well, if it really is the videocard, then they'll be okay. It's just a matter of ghosting them over, I suppose. If it's something more, I might be calling out to all of Boolprop to get files for my sims! So keep that in mind, folks. I'd still lose some like Harris, and Eddie & Denise's kids, but it'd be better than nothing.

I'm going to ask a pseudo-expert who games with Michael, what about just replacing the video card and seeing if that does the trick. Even if we just borrow one to test the theory.

I mean, Michael's idea is a new computer, which takes time and money, but I'd just be happy with the old machine working right for a few more months.

I have such a handsome Harem O Spares. I know somebody's going to see all those comments and think of me as a floozy, but I've tried to make it clear that I'm faithful within the world they're in. No smoochy with DB on Planet Revolution, for example.

Oh no Michelle! *HUGS* I totally understand how terrible that feels... just one component of the computer needing to be fixed... I wanted to hug mine too since I had built it and it had been faithful for 4.5 years. You want to check before you purchase a new part to see if it is more economical to actually buy new since sometimes older parts can be really expensive, which is what happened to me. If it's going to be a while before you get a new computer or a new part maybe you can do what I did, install just a few of the SecuRom free EPs on your other computer and play a short challenge. It will let you get your sim fix while you are waiting for your computer.
