I make pasta sauce the same way as you do, albeit with different ingredients. My hubby likes it, and when I make a batch of it for dinner, there's enough that I can pack some in his lunch the next day.

So, does tossing avocado pieces with the lime juice keep the avocado from blackening?

I thought I'd answer this since I eat avocados all the time. ^_^ Yep, squeezing some lime or lemon juice over the avocado pieces does keep it from oxidizing (blackening/browning). And not to mention, it tastes fantastic!

Agreed - lime and avocado is great, add a little salt too and it's perfect!

Hi! This is the first time I've commented on your journal, but I'm entranced by the bentos you post :)

That meat sauce sounds great, I love the brand, Amy's... she makes fantastic healthy frozen foods as well ^^ (Only if I don't have time to cook of course!)

Ooooh! Did the container you put the avocado in come in a heart shape or did you shape it yourself?

Looks like a super yummy lunch!

It comes that way! Actually, the foil liners are made by Reynolds (of the aluminum wrap). Look for the heart and star shapes in your grocery near the baking stuff.
