I'm finally all settled in at my new place in St. Catharines. It's been a bit surreal...again, I really didn't think it'd all happen this fast! I look around my new room and walk around this house, and surprisingly, I already feel pretty much "at home." It's a nice neighbourhood...it's pretty quiet despite the fact that a lot of the people on our ( Read more... )

hey mae! i'd just like to say i'm so proud of you for standing where you at right now. i've always found it so hard to live away from home as i easily get home-sick, and simply for starting new and fresh. 'wish you all the best =D

ps. i dont think it'll be much of a prob that you have to wake up early.... you've always done it in your undergrad =P

thanks so much hun! surprisingly, i thought i'd miss home a bit more but being in st.cats this past week has been great! it's weird how i already feel like it's a 2nd home in st.cats - everyone's been awesome, whether it's my roomies, fellow teacher candidates in my cohort group, faculty advisors, etc. it's fun living away from home and just doing my own thing!

it was def a bit nerve wracking leading up to moving out since the area's so new to me & i don't really know anyone around st.cats, but it's been a really smooth transition. thanks for your support hun (=

lol yeah, i SHOULD be used to waking up early but i had a whole week free from work & was able to sleep in, so thats what was making it hard...also, i just wasn't looking forward to having to look over course material again after a summer of just working & chilling on the side but i guess i'll ease into it soon enough...it's not really an option after all lol

it's actually been pretty hard getting a full amount of sleep in st.cats - probably cuz i'm still adjusting to sleeping in a new place...the first few days here, i've only been able to sleep like 4 hours straight w/o waking up, then i've been waking up every 1/2 hr - 1 hr after that 4 hours =/ it's been exhausting! finally, after wednesday night, i've been able to sleep about 6hrs straight & it's been better sleeping since then. i think it helps that i've been doing fitness classes w/ my roomies, one of which teaches these classes @ the local GoodLife Fitness Centres in St.Cats, so she always makes sure we work up a sweat & r completely exhausted after lol
