Nodding, Ariella turned the book toward him slightly so he could read the heading. "This is more for pleasure than for school work, but I think any reading for Defense is better than none," she said, sighing as she wiggled her shoulders to find a comfortable spot. "It's not far into the term and I'm already struggling with the class," she added, the corners of her lips pulling down into a small frown.

"I'd really appreciate it," Ariella said gratefully. "I honestly don't think I'll be able to finish the class successfully without help."

When Caradoc motioned for her to stretch her legs out onto his lap, she studied his face curiously before turning so her back was against the armrest and resting her legs comfortably on his thighs. "Thanks, that's much better," Ari told him, another smile claiming her mouth. "So, how's Alice? I haven't gotten to see her much lately. You two are usually attached at the hip," she commented, her arms clutching the now closed Defense Against the Dark Arts book against her chest.

For no reason that she could think of (other than finding him unbelievably attractive), Caradoc was making her nervous... no, maybe nervous wasn't the right word. All she knew was that those pesky little butterflies were fluttering around in her stomach and somehow keeping a tight hold on that book was making her think about them a just little less.
