What is it with these guys?! Once again, I've written back to a man who contacted me via the singles website I frequent, and he gave me his phone number in his second e-mail. For all he knows, I could be a crazy sick lunatic, and he's just handed me permanent contact information

I seem to be chasing men away at a phenomenal rate. Dan (this guy I complained about) hasn't e-mailed back, which is a pity, since he did seem nice, though perhaps a little on the normal side.

(Aside: Dad chewed me out for wanting someone a bit off-kilter. Weird people live on the fringe, he said. I blew him out of the water by pointing out that Margaret -- Dad's "one that got away" -- married normal. As the latter two-thirds of her life have been a miserable disaster because of her abusive and dishonest husband, Dad shut up.)
