Would this whole scene represent an evil conspiracy by Ida to shake up the three of them? If so, which way would she want it to turn out?
TBF, who has done just enough martial arts to appreciate how massively the "catching instead of a blocking a punch" move was showing off. Some shows would have needed a big ol' furniture-busting fight to establish that.
I wasn't really thinking she'd shoot him, seeing as the notion of blasting away is relatively new to Wendy on the show. Sure, she's quick to draw, but unless she's panicked she's going to think twice about pulling the trigger. Maybe I should edit in a last thought for MM right at the end:
Perhaps he would join Dubbie in the locker room and remind her of the detailing job the Middle mobile needed after she'd shot the space cockroach in there.
Ida doesn't want to give up either of her Middlemen to Wendy, but I think she had a serious robo-crush on 69 and would help him mess with people. If anything, his tales of woe with women are worse than the current version's celibacy and loneliness. All things added up, Guy Goddard hurt no one more than himself. Ida's a sucker for lost cause Middlemen.
Hahaha, I love this! MM-69 would probably get really annoying quickly (like all those guys from Mad Men) since political correctness wasn't exactly a concept in his day. And yeah, MM-69 probably would hook up with his opponents' hot assistants.
