the titanic episode

Here are some random thoughts I hope will spark discussion on everyone's favorite couple.

When I watched the episode, from the perspective of a WW/MM shipper, I was really hoping Wendy's sorrowful look at the end was secretly because MM loved Lacey and not her.
It might not be the case, but its what I'm rooting for.
Thoughts??

Also... why couldn't ( Read more... )

I'm actually a MM/WW shipper and I would be sad if he hooked up with her friend instead.

Oh, it so was. I believe it's what collectively known as the "choose me instead" look. He's surprisingly dense sometimes, that man. *shakes head*
And yes, I did totally sit there and shout "noooooo!" at the television during all the Lacey/MM bits. I'm an enthusiastic person and they squick me out.

*looks shifty* I may have been shouting "make out in a closet!" but what I totally meant was yes, dancing! Dancing would have made good footage in general, but I concur. The pretty of Dubby in that dress along with the pretty of MM in a tux? Oooh....*grins*

The stalking is pretty creepy. This ep. set up for so much nice WW/MM shipping, but then didn't go anywhere!

Trapped in a closet together? MAKE OUT, DAMNIT!
Dancing? Whyyyyyy couldn't this have happened?
But the outfits, I agree, were fantastic.

I hold out hope for the remainder of the season.

That was my least favorite episode, I must confess. I do apologize now, I may rant, but I can't help it! LOL!

First off, Lacey stalked him! She stalked him to the movie! Her attempt at a "date" just screamed of desperation in my eyes! As with bethanyconnalor and was shouting "NOOOO!" in horror as they had their "date" and dance. But I was sooo happy when they sunk that ship!

But, rant over, I must say this. Yes, Wendy looked hurt and betrayed. And yes, his speech had a "..." in the air. I honestly was waiting for him to go "Also, I'm in love with your roommate" LOL! And yes, a dance would've been awesome! But he did save her like Jack did Rose, so that was something.

On a side note: I will be working on a Post-Tuba fic, where at the MMHQ, Wendy doesn't exactly quit but takes a leave. He broke one of her rules and now he will deal with the consequences...

I really loved that look of Wendy's at the end, because it works on so many levels. It can - and I do think it was, in part - Wendy looking sad because she likes her boss, more than she's willing to admit or maybe even realizes herself. However, it also simultaneously works as Wendy sad/worried for MM & Lacey knowing them being together isn't a good idea and probably will end in tears. Also Wendy possibly contemplating her own potential lonely future as an MM and by her standing there all alone at the end, it's like it's already starting (to drum it in she mentions her woefully uneventful lovelife the previous ep, the end of this ep was almost like the depressing response to that).

It could just be the series similarities to MiB, but I wonder if Wendy might end up like J at the end of the movie, having to erase MM's memories so he can be with Lacey but also have to give up being the MM (and Wendy possibly sacrificing her friendship with Lacey) and Wendy carries on as MM.

I'm a huge Wendy/MM fan, but I did like this episode, especially the part where he saved her.

Even though I don't like Lacey/MM, it's hard for me to dislike her. She's sometimes annoying, yes, but she really carries an innocence about her that balances out Wendy.

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks Noser would be perfect for her?

Lacey is really sweet, it's hard to dislike her and you can tell she'd do anything for Wendy. However, I remember that ep where MM had to steal Wendy from Lacey's performance at Art Crawl. Lacey's got the career-driven, world-saving mom who can't make time for her and now here's Wendy turning into another Dr. Barbara Thornfield, MD PHD at the beck & call of her own pillow-lipped Henry Kissinger. My heart broke for her, but it's another reason - outside of the constant danger of comic book terror - MM/Lacey probably just isn't a good idea. Lacey needs a guy who's going to be be around and MM probably isn't that guy. Unless, of course, he quits or she also gets recruited into the secret world of comic book terror. I don't see him quiting, at least not voluntarily (barring any future, aforementioned MiB similarities), but you never know about more recruits. It might be interesting to see Lacey and Noser part of Jolly Fats Wehawkins someday. XD
