I've been a busy little bee today, so now I'm resting, drinking tea, eating biscuits and posting photos from the trip after the Bath ball. We had a lovely time, the weather was perfect, not too hot, and it only started to rain once we'd gone into the house, and stopped again before we went outside again! Any way, (

I have no idea where the wool came from, I found it at school when I was moving workrooms and had to empty all the shelves of fabric! It may have been bought by my predecessor, or donated by a parent, I figured I'm never going to use it for something at school, so I may as well rescue it :)
It's a lovely fine plain weave wool, very soft and drapey. I think any tropical weight wool would work as well, and every now and then some pretty colours do pop up!

Wow, that's a stroke of luck! I will definitely keep an eye out for tropical in pretty colors. I love Katherine's yellow 1860s with tropical, but I've got lots of fabric for 1860s; definitely time for Regency.
