Dyrham Park photos

I've been a busy little bee today, so now I'm resting, drinking tea, eating biscuits and posting photos from the trip after the Bath ball. We had a lovely time, the weather was perfect, not too hot, and it only started to rain once we'd gone into the house, and stopped again before we went outside again! Any way, ( here are some photos, mostly of my new rasperry wool dress... )

That is such a pretty dress! I've wanted to make something nice and cozy but pretty, and this is a perfect example. Where on earth did you find wool in that color?

You should absolutely make a warm Regency dress! They're far too under-represented, and soo comfy! I think this one will be getting a lot of wear, I do live in England ;)
I have no idea where the wool came from, I found it at school when I was moving workrooms and had to empty all the shelves of fabric! It may have been bought by my predecessor, or donated by a parent, I figured I'm never going to use it for something at school, so I may as well rescue it :)
It's a lovely fine plain weave wool, very soft and drapey. I think any tropical weight wool would work as well, and every now and then some pretty colours do pop up!

Yay, me for a cozy dress! And here I'm living in Texas, where we've been in the 80s for weeks, but hey - it DOES get cold and I'm fully acclimatized. ;)

Wow, that's a stroke of luck! I will definitely keep an eye out for tropical in pretty colors. I love Katherine's yellow 1860s with tropical, but I've got lots of fabric for 1860s; definitely time for Regency.

I love the new dress! It's so frilly and fun! Plus it has that "right" look, you know, when it stops looking like a costume and just looks like clothes. Great job!

You look beautiful! That is a gorgeous new dress. So perfect. And I love it paired with the chocolate spencer. It's like a truffle!
