I never cared for Lisa. I never thought her cooking was on the same level as Richard or Stephanie, and quite frnakly, while editing can emphasize traits (good or bad) fact is, they can't edit it, if they didn't exist.
I really don't care who wins, I don't have a vested interest either way.
The main reason I want Stephanie to win, I think is because it would be a nice change from the guys always winning. But they did kind of stack the deck to make that happen this time around, IMO.
Did you see the comments Lisa made in response to some of the criticism leveled her way? She is no doubt, a total cunt. I mean, she was talking about how none of these people could afford to eat her restaurant, so what do they know anyway, blah blah blah.
And yeah, they did stack the deck. As was pointed out, there is a 3:1 ratio in the food industry, so way more often then not, you're going to have a guy win.
She truly is a cunt, and I almost never use that word but in this case it's well deserved. I do remember her saying that and thinking what an awful and stupid thing that is to say.
Steph winning would actually fit that ratio perfectly -- 3 men, 1 woman. I would like to see more women break the glass ceiling in the food industry. Maybe a woman winning will at least put a crack in it. I'm not naive enough to think it will do more than that, though.
I'm actually hoping Richard wins - because I think that Lisa should have been gone long before, but they were stacking the deck so to speak to make sure the odds were better that a "woman" would win...so I would love it if Richard beat the odds and was triumphant. Now, don't get me wrong, I would be tickled pink if Stephanie wins too - both of them are darn good chef's and both of them are able to work with pretty much ANYONE, and to me, that is what makes a top chef!
I definitely agree they were stacking the deck. I'm just kind of glad they did, because all three past winners have been guys, so it's nice to see a woman have a good shot at it this time. I have a feeling both Richard and Stephanie will come through in the end and it'll be a close race. I hope it is at least better than last season when Casey folded under pressure so badly!
