Dude.

I'm so with you there. Too bad you can't hide a camera to get her reaction :p

In all seriousness, have you asked her to stop? Also, if you do and she doesn't, take it up with your boss. This falls under the category of inappropriate workplace behavior.

No, I haven't asked her to stop yet. That really should be my first course of action. It's not nearly as funny, except that I think she might claim I'm persecuting her for being Christian. I think what she's doing is definitely inappropriate, though. I just need to find a way to present that so that it doesn't cause all sorts of workplace drama. It was so much easier with my former boss. He simply sent out a memo to everyone in the firm reminding them that political and religious emails were a no-no, so I never had to say anything.

Yeah.

You could just try something simple like, "Thank you for thinking of me, but I don't care to discuss religion and politics at work, please take me off your distribution list."

That's very good, thank you. I may just C & P that to her next time she sends me something. I'd like to nip this in the bud before the political season really heats up.

Completely inexcusable behavior for an office. This is actually grounds for dismissal at my company.

Does she perhaps think that you are of the same mind as her? I had someone send me loads of anti Republican stuff (yep, I am one) and I tried to explain to her that not everyone was of her same mindset.

But, this lead to her spending 20 minutes ranting at me about my beliefs and how evil I was.(of course, she never actually asked me what I thought, she just told me what I was) Which, I imagine is what would happen to you as well. I say reply to her next email with a 'thanks but no thanks' and then take it up with management.

Good Luck!

If I pressed my case it would probably be grounds for dismissal where I am, as well. I don't know why anyone, whether Democrat, Republican,Green Party or whatever would assume anyone else was of the same mind without talking to them first, and this co-worker and I have never discussed religion or politics. I'm pretty much in the middle, so I get far-left wing stuff that kind of boggles me, as well, but not from my co-workers. I'm sorry you had to listen to the rant. I'm afraid you're right that that is what will happen to me, as well. I probably should try saying no thanks to them. We're too small a firm to have much of a layer of management, but that's another route I could try.
