I'd be a little concerned, too. A dog is really so much work - even at my age, I don't think I'd have enough time to look after one right now. They aren't cat people, I take it? There's something very comforting about a cat that doesn't need to be bathed or cleaned up after (usually!). :)

Oh, I love Gigi! I got it on DVD recently and keep meaning to watch it again. And 2001, a Space Odyssey - *snore* I'm sure it's technically very brilliant, but it's a complete bore to watch.

My dad likes cats well enough, but he prefers dogs. I totally agree with you about cats. They are much easier to care for, even considering the litter box clean up. But they have gone ahead and adopted the dog, so my sister and I will just have to help out as much as we can. Hopefully everything will work out okay!

I should get Gigi on DVD too. I love everything about it. And yeah, 2001 just isn't my kind of thing. I really don't feel deprived that I've missed seeing it as an adult.
