The judges, Nigel in particular, really didn't like Ricky so I wasn't surprised to see them boot him the first chance they got. But I didn't agree it was because of his solo -- I thought he went all out, while Dominic did the same spinny thing he always does.

I'm not sorry to see the uber-bland Ashlee go but I would have loved to see Faina get her comeuppance. Oh well, soon enough! ;-D

True, they made it very clear they did not care for him. Mia will be pissed, though. ITA about their solos. I kind of think the judges' deliberation conversation went -- "Well, we dumped Ashlee, we don't want to repartner anyone and we don't like this kid, anyway so let's get rid of him and say he didn't 'bring it' in his solo."

Ashlee's blandness almost seemed deliberate! And Heh ... no way could they let Faina go in the first week since her brother did that last year. ITA that she won't last very long, though. Not with solos like that.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that Ricky went because Ashlee did--in the first round or two it's not unusual for whole couples to go. I think they want to give the couples a chance for their chemistry to improve which just takes time.

*nod* That makes sense. Plus it was more fair to Sabra and/or Faina to let them keep their partners.

It was; good dancer or not Ricky was kind of creepy and definitely a bit off-kilter. No matter how good a dancer he is, that's enough to stop him from winning.

Wow, an actual Harry fan! :) I thought Harry POtter fandom was like Buffy- people love all the characters except the one in the title.

It could just be because it's such a huge fandom, but I think there are a handful of us Harry fans. ;) It does seem like the fandom's a lot like Buffy fandom in that regard, and I've always considered myself part of a minority. Most people I know are Draco fans, Snape fans and/or general Slytherin fans or they are mainly Hermione fans or they just hate Harry and don't care about anyone else. But I know there are some other Harry fans on my f-list. I also think there may be a few more Harry-liking HP fans than there were Buffy-liking BtVS fans because Harry's a bit more sympathetic, being an abused orphan and all.
