Hi to knew friends from the past month or two, most of whom are either from the HP friending frenzy or hogwarts_hocusMy big news of the weekend is: I cut back my petunias. Wheee! They look kind of awful right now, but since I did that and also gave them a top dressing of some compost, I'm hoping they look nice and bushy and flower-covered in a couple of weeks ( Read more... )

Benji and Donyelle are my favorites, although I also like Martha and Travis, and the two who did the quickstep who are so very much doing it offstage (Natalie and Misa?). I also love Dmitry, because he is hot and a great ballroom dancer. He's had horrible luck with partners, though, and I'm not sure the new partnerless girl will be much better.

I love this show. It's horrible, but so much fun!

I don't know the names yet, because I've only watched 2 eps so far. But the quicksteppers, yeah, so totally doing it! They are wonderfully connected! I think the judges were right about his footwork, though. But hey, the quickstep is a really hard dance to learn, IMO. Dimitri is da bomb! I didn't see what happened on the results show - did Dimitri loose his partner?

Martha and Travis = the hip-hop ones at the end, she had the super-long legs and the Daisy Duke shorts, he has a sort-of Mohawk, the judges thought they were dancing two different dances (which is true, but they are usually wonderful)

Benji and Donyelle = did the weird "jazz pop" MTV video song where she had the veil over half her face, the week before they did an AWESOME hot samba-like dance. The judges said they are true partners, which is true. They routinely get the loudest and longest cheers, I think mostly for Benji because he's like the Clay/Taylor of the season. In a good way. :)

Dmity's partner did get booted, as did the guy we called Blockhead. *g* His partner is a hip-hopper, so we'll see how she does with Dmitry...

Okay, I remember Martha and Travis. They were fun, but yeah, the judges were right about them doing two different dances. I hope to see them this week doing something really great, cause they do seem to have that potential.

Benji and Donyelle I missed. I can't remember what I was doing but there was a section in the middle I didn't see. Sorry I missed them now that I've read your description.

I hope Dimitry does well enough with his new hip-hopper. He really is a hottie!

Eee! Another SYTYCD fan!

My girlfriend got me hooked on this show last summer, and now we both are obsessive about it. The fun thing is, she's actually taken dance and theater, and her mother is a dance teacher. Our post-show phone calls are always interesting.

It's gotta be good, then. You're the one who recced Moonstone to me, and I loved that.

The new MoM is clearly the sacrifical "red" character. If you've been following the alchemy theories, there's a "black" phase, a "white" phase and a "red" phase in alchemy, supposedly, and rumors about whether Rubeus Hagrid or one of the Weasleys will go. I think that Rufus Scrimgeour is as much a "red" character as Hagrid is. 8-)

I also think you can flip a coin whether Harry will die or not.

JMHO.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Scrimgeour was one of ones to go. But I don't think he's really a big enough character to have warranted her recent remarks, and I also think he was probably always going to die. Fudge too, maybe?

I just can't see her killing Harry. To me, that would negate the point of Lily's sacrifice and go against everything the books stand for. Plus I don't think her agent would have taken her on if she'd either told him or her she planned on killing Harry, or if she'd been noncommittal about it. From what I've heard, the publishing industry is about as stodgy and unwilling to take risks as possible. But we shall see! I do think she is having a lot of fun messing with her fans while we wait for Book 7 to come out.
