If you were talking about Juan Flavier, I might have to add that...He isn't even Catholic to begin with. He's frikkin' Protestant. The CBCP reeks of fail.

As a friend of mine said: The CBCP needs to upgrade itself to the 21st century.

I'm not sure if it's Juan Flavier, I need to fact-check, because the name of the guy eludes me atm.

P.S. HI PAM. HOW ARE YOU?

My face has been thoroughly palmed. I will write more when I have a more functional mind (12 lessons on a Friday good job you bloody Italians), so I'm off to a Starbucks to unwind before I go home and chillax to the max.

But I will say this. STAR IS THE MOST INDIGNANT RIGHT NOW AND THIS SHIT IS BANANAS LIKE BANANA BREAD TOPPED WITH BANANA ICE CREAM AND EATEN WITH BANANASHAKE. I REMAIN UNIMPRESSED WITH THESE SHENANIGANS.

... &c.

BBL, baby. Unload ka lang.

CAN I HAZ SOAPBOX NAO cindyg October 1 2010, 14:15:03 UTC
I have always found it irritating beyond measure that the Church has "think of the children" as one of its cliches, and yet on the topic of maternal health is strangely silent. Either that, or I am deaf/clueless/totally missed the boat when they did say something about it ( ... )

Don't worry Tita Cindy. In terms lifted from my workplace: The vessel did not arrive as pre-scheduled. I don't think there was a schedule for it to dock to begin with. ><;

And I second, third and fourth everything that you've just said.

P.S. Would it be okay if I updated my post and quoted what you've said here?

Permission to quote, granted. *grin* I doubt the vessel would have made it past the breakwater into the harbor, for reals.

I once saw on ABS-CBN a young mother who was livid at then-Mayor Lito Atienza's decision to stop providing contraceptive pills at the city health centers because it was immoral. She was an illustration of the line from a country song: "One of them is toddling, and one of them is crawling, and one's on the way..."

She said they were hard put to feed two little mouths, let alone three, and if she got pregnant again, she was threatening to leave the baby at the Mayor's office for *him* to feed and bring up, because it would be his fault. Go her, for being such a graphic example.

Thanks po. I posted your comment up on the post. And that woman has a standing ovation from me.

And now I am trying to distract myself from the rage I am feeling over the latest news. Arroyo. ARGH.
