White t-shirts lead to white supremacism

So, look at this story.

A high school in Soquel, California suspended some students because they wore white t-shirts.

Even if you read it as ellipsis for "feeling safe on campus and being safe on campus", I still don't see why that's something the authorities say they wish to prevent.
