I'm up to the intermission. Oliver Stone said he wanted you to take a pause, to think about things, and come back to the movie.

This is the version. Much better in this hard to pin down way. Fuller. Lusher. More continuity. Better cut. The theme of Alexander and the great myths is stronger.

( Are they still spoilers when it's just a new version??? )

Oh, thank you for review. But, Oliver, i hate you! why? i don't need more Bagoas, I don't need to see this eunugh to kiss and ... with Alexander and telling Roxana Alex loves him too... not for my pleasure. I need more Heph!!!

*g* I think Alexander saying he loves Bagoas as well just told Roxane she's third in line.

*sigh* No big extra Alexander/Hephiastion scene, but I was much happier with the balcony scene.

The Renault books were the same way. You could tell that Hephaistion was first in Alexander's heart, but very little description of them being intimate. Damnit!! *g*

Think we could convince Jared to grow his hair long again? *g*

The balcony scene has the best of both previous versions ... plus more. *g*

The only specific extra bit I can think of at the moment is Hephaistion saying if I'm Patrokolas I'm to die first. Very prophetic.

But the way they leave it, you know they are going to spend the night together. That would have been the perfect place for a little Alexander/ Hephaistion action. Alas, they still end on the hug.

That's two movies Jared and Colin have teased us in. One day they need to make a movie where they really make out. Now we just have to think of something where they torture Jared's character so it will appeal to his masochistic side.

It's called "Alexander Revisited - The Final Cut". It has a red eagle over Alexander's eyes on the cover.
