I only read "The Persian Boy" of Renault's trilogy, because it's the one translated into Italian (yes, they translated the second book -.-). But I want to read the other two, because I liked the way she writes.
"The Persian Boy" is Bagoas' POV. Since I don't like him I was a bit disappointed at the begginning but it's a very good book nonetheless.

I've started in on "The Persian Boy". Yeah, it's strange that the book is about Alexander, but Alexander is such a distant figure in the beginning.

While "The Persian Boy" is written in first person point of view, from Bagoas' perspective, "Fire From Heaven" is written in third person point of view, basically focusing on Alexander. Slightly different style.

That's strange that they'd only translate the one book into Italian. It's not like they haven't had the time. These books are as old as I am. *g*

Only three that I recall getting, and Funeral Games was probably my least favorite of the three. That one took quite a bit of time to slog through. Not that I hated it, per se, I just didn't devour it like the first two. Persian Boy was the best of the three.

I think "Persian Boy" is a more immersive read because of the first person point of view. And there seems to be less talk of battles, given that Bagoas isn't directly involved in the actual fighting. And yes, I'm having to force myself to leave it home and not take it to work with me.
