30STM in Philly (Post 2 of 2)

Mar 26, 2006 15:17

Go here for post 1 of 2.Ok, time for the main event. Most of the equipment was on the stage for the whole show. As each band got off, equipment would disappear. They set-up and tore down drumsets for each of the opening acts. They all had the drumsets setup in front of an Aiden banner. Emanuel must not have one, or not have replaced it yet. Oh, yes. Work all week and a normal nothing planned weekend is going to seem so ordinary after this week.

Well, God Bless sweating easily - Matt had nice arms! And Jared had threatened to come up to the balcony, but he never carried out that promise! Now THAT could have been fun! And like I told you, mock it if he wanted, be we had seats, a birds eye view, and nobody was body slamming us to the concrete. Damn it, I could have broken a nail! :) Besides, getting spat upon isn't in my top ten things to do before I die! *g*

Could have cared less about the priest outfit; not being outraged will be the least of my reasons I end up in hell. Liked the hat though; thought it suited him.

I watched Jared while he was signing, and when he hugged the guy in front of me. He had makeup remnants, but it did look like he'd toweled a lot of it off. Hard to tell from the balcony what he had on during the concert. And for all of their "keep moving, no pictures" I think if they recognized you, they did more.

LOL. So, should I send you some of those half naked shots when Shannon and Matt were showing off all their tattoos?

Oh, yeah. I think they're very good at that. I saw Jared lean over and hug a few people.

I think you did already - at least Shannon's! Although, now that I have joined the land of Broadband (painlessly too, relatively speaking) it's a heck of a lot easier?

Ouroboros symbol? They have one?

I know I posted the one pic of Shannon. Here's the bulk of the photoshoot. And here is Jared's tattoo, from the same photoshoot.

Got a couple glimpses of Jared's tattoo on stage in DC. He wasn't wearing gloves or the wrist support.

And here is the banner with the ouroborus.

Try poking around ghanisquest. That's Nathalie's new community where we're playing around with all the symbology.

LOL. I'm just not brave enough to venture into the mosh pit. I must say it was impressive from a distance.

Read something sexual into that if you like, I did. *g*

(*LOL*)

Jared (...) crowd surfed on Tomo's side of the stage once during Buddha.

He always seems to be wanting to do something during Buddha. In New York he got up on a high platform and then jumped into the crowd. It was insane!

Jared told us he lived in Philly (he attended school at the University of the Arts)

The man has been living everywhere, it seems ...

Nathalie, I still haven't gotten to make comments on a lot of your posts.

No rush, I'm horribly behind with everything myself.

I've noticed that too. Did you see the video of him singing from the rafters in Florida? Crazy boy.

No wonder they have no problem adjusting to living on the road. They're born nomads.

*SQUEES* for you!!! So awesome.

Reminds me of the two-week period where thisside and I saw them open for Audioslave in OKC and then saw them headline at the Cain's in Tulsa. The experiences were SO different but both really great.

It's so neat that you got to meet LJ friends and meet the guys (I know what you mean about not being able to look them in the face, by the way, and I've met them thrice now - I still have trouble looking at Jared) and see such great shows. I cannot wait until Friday night!!!

It's a real testament to them that they seem to play well under all sorts of conditions. Big venue/ small venue. Indoor/ outdoor. Opening act/ headliner. Even full versions of the songs vs acoustic.

I know what you mean about not being able to look them in the face, by the way, and I've met them thrice now - I still have trouble looking at JaredFrom a distance, I can't keep my eyes off Jared, but up close it's almost too much. He's so intense. And it's just so bizarre knowing so much about a person who knows nothing at all about you ( ... )
