Day 1: 5 bands that sum up your music taste.
1. 30 Seconds to Mars ... 2000's
2. Evanescence ... also 2000's
3. Enigma ... 1990's
4. Duran Duran ... 1980's
5. Johnny Cash ... 1970's
To explain. In the 1970's, I mostly listened to what my parents liked - country music. So I still like classic country artists like Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Pardon. In the 1980's, Duran Duran was my favorite band. In general, I liked a mix of eighties rock and pop, but new wave was a particular favorite. Other standout artists include The Police, Arcadia, A-ha, and Depeche Mode. In the 1990's I was listening to a lot of new age, electronics, and world music, of which Enigma is a standout. Others include Clannad, Lorenna McKennitt, and E.S. Posthumous. And 30 Seconds to Mars and Evanescence are two of my favorite "today" bands. (No need to separate the 2000's and the 2010's yet.)
