This weekend didn't result in much sleep, but I had so much fun visiting Gettysburg for Remembrance weekend. I was able to tour some of the shops along Baltimore Street, watch the reenactors in the parade dedicated to the lives lost during the Civil War, climb the tower on the battle field, shop at Boyds Bear, walk around 3,500 lit candles at the ( Read more... )

It could have been anywhere. There are a few Remembrance parades in other states, as well. And each state remembers their regiment, so perhaps something was done while you were in one of those states. It could have been in honor of a completely different war, too.

i have to say i know little of american history, but my excuse is that i wasnt born nor educated here. but of course, important pieces like the gettysburg i know, and i'd love to visit!

I hope you are able to visit one day! It is one thing to read about it, but it is something else entirely different when you are able to visit the place you read about. You can also learn details you won't read about in any books, which is nice if you like the little details. :)

I have never heard of boyds bear. Well I´m from germany so...

jsut looked ath the "whats most important in a boy/girlfriend" .. so hotness is not important? well I guess we have to tell that to the boys .... but I agree about the kindness and the similarities

Boyds Bear is a company where they make all sorts of bear related merchandise, as well as throwing in a few other things. Most people love them because of the stuffed bears they make. I think there are three major stores/factories along the East Coast carrying the merchandise, as well as a few small businesses carrying a few of their products. It is fairly big around these parts.
