A Question

Is there a band that you used to like a lot, even love maybe, but now you can't stand? I don't mean the hair band you loved in Jr. High but embarrassed about now. Because honestly, when you hear that hair band now, you still listen to it, if only for the nostalgia. No, I'm talking about the band that you actually owned the CD (or tape) years ago ( Read more... )

Funny- my first album was RHCP's One Hot Minute... and I *hated* it. I bought it for the Aeroplane song, and discovered that the rest of the music really sucked. And then they overplayed Aeroplane... and I haven't even bothered to upload it to my iTunes.

Also, Live. Except for Lightning Crashes and Dolphin's Cry, the rest of their music really... isn't very good.

I actually feel that way about the Beatles. I used to eat drink and breathe them and now , I am so over them.

I haven't quite gotten that far. But I used to think they'd never done a bad song, and now there are a lot of their songs that just make me go "meh". Their best songs (in my opinion) are still among my favorites, though...

For me, my musical tastes have largely broadened over time. Nirvana, for example, annoyed the crap out of me in middle/high school, but I somewhat enjoy them now.

I think so. But I can't come up with examples. I can't listen to music anymore, or I won't. I figure I haven't really listened to music in 2-3 years...

Although, I'd be willing to bet I'm all out of patience for NIN and Tori Amos, give or take a few songs.

I think I'll have to agree with you on RHCP on that one.. Their newer material practically forces me to turn the radio off, or to a different station. They used to be so upbeat and jumpy, but now their music is the same slow, dragging, uninspired stuff that makes me feel depressed.

Otherwise, I still listen to hair bands, and not just for the nostalgia.. I love it. :D

I'm weird like that, but you already know it.
