New Year, New(ish) Goals

Three years ago, I made a list of 30 Goals to reach before I reached 30. I gave myself 13 months, and those were some of the happiest 13 months of my life. These days, I'm a pretty happy person, despite some challenges, but I liked having the goals. They act as reminders that I have a good life, reminders to feel the happy about all I have to ( Read more... )

Your goals are pretty awesome :) If you ever need someone to watch Miranda so you guys can work on these or do date night, we're always an option! :) I'm totally jealous that you're taking a swim class. I miss doing that, but it's much harder to do it with two. Maybe when Julia's older. You'll have to let me know which CSA you get into- we tried when we first moved out here, but didn't have good luck, and I suspect you'll do a lot better (probably research better!).

Which CSA did you try? I think I've found the one I want to use (Helsing Junction Farm http://www.helsingfarmcsa.com/), but I'd like to hear about other experiences.

I'm not sure I could ask you guys to watch Miranda without feeling guilty ... I mean, I can't imagine juggling two! It just sounds mean to saddle you with a third. It's a really sweet offer, though, and I'm glad to know you're open to it ... if we really needed you. Of course, we'd be happy to watch your sweet little ladies if you need a night out, too. Or anything.

It's actually surprisingly easy to manage more than two. I was pretty wary of it the first time I tried, because I was afraid I would be pretty overwhelmed, but it was much easier than I expected. We tried Full Circle Farms... disappointing because in order to compete they ran it all 12 months, and in doing so, supplemented with non-local produce, which was often... hmm, long in the tooth. We finally gave it up after we got a couple of boxes with moldy produce- totally squicked out Carl. And it wasn't the local farm produce. The Helsing Junction Farm one sounds great! I mostly just want one that runs when the farm is actually running, and only has stuff from that farm... you may have actually solved my problem for me! :)

In addition to all the normal stuff that sounds good, the family campouts and the three-day music festival that they host on their property really make me want to support and be involved with them.
